Week of 2/23 - 2/27

Monday - Chapter 21 unit assessment. Health projects are due. Students will present their findings to the class. Projects must be ready to present when students walk in class. Papers must be emailed to Coachrogers.health@hotmail.com prior to their class block.

Tuesday - Students will complete their presentations.

Wednesday - Students will start chapter 22 covering illegal drugs. Students will complete definitions. They will work with a partner to read and take notes from the chapter.

Thursday - Students will complete chapter 22 notes. 

Friday - Students will start chapter 24 covering diseases. This will be a short unit. Students will take notes and complete an in-class activity.

2/9/15 - 2/13/15

Monday - Students and teacher will complete chapter 20 notes covering tobacco. Students will develop truth commercials to perform for their peers. 

Tuesday - Students will complete review active to help them prepare for the unit assessment. 

Wednesday - Students will take chapter 20 assessment. Students will complete vocabulary for chapter 21. 

Thursday - Students and teacher will cover chapter 21 lesson 1 and 2 using PowerPoint and active notes. 

Friday - Students and teacher will complete chapter 20 notes. Students will start project  based assignment.

Week of 2/2/15 - 2/6/15


Monday - Students will start chapter 20 active notes. Chapter 20 covers tobacco.

Tuesday - Students will start work on health projects. Groups for their health projects will be developed. Students will be given a rubric and expectations for their projects. Projects will consist of a 4 page paper and a presentations that outlines their paper. Each group will turn in a paper and present their presentation to their peers. Once groups are developed students will create an outline for their papers, each group member will understand his/her responsibilities, and the group will decide on the kind of presentation that the group will like to develop. All of this should be complete before going to the computer lab for the next two days so students can maximize their time in the computer lab.
